Kale Nelson, who serves as a Sports Information Assistant at the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games, joined the team in March 2024. His role primarily pertains to creating content for the coverage of USG events.
Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nelson chose to travel to Cedar City for Southern Utah University’s new sports communication program. He will graduate with his bachelor’s in 2026.
Prior to USG, Nelson spent two years with SUU News, where he produced quarterly editions of the “University Journal” as the Editor-in Chief and wrote gymnastics and football content for their website as a sports reporter.
In addition to USG, Nelson will fill the position of a Sports Information Intern with SUU Athletics, covering Track and Field and Cross Country.
He hopes to use the skills he gains through his time here to start a career in sports information, allowing him to accomplish his goal of sharing the stories of athletes and coaches across the nation.
