shooting since 1973. Has won state level tournaments. Finished fifth in the Expert class four position match at the National Rifle Association Indoor
Rifle Sectional Championships. NRA certified rifle coach and served on the board of trustees for the Utah State Rifle and Pistol Association from 1982-89.

Registration Deadline: Final online registration will be due Monday, June 15, 2009. Onsite registration will be one hour before first event at venue. Use Individual Registration Form.

Special Conditions:
- There will be a minimum age of 12 years on all .22 caliber events and 15 years on all center fire pistol events. Competitors in High Power Rifle under 15 years of age must have an NRA classification card or temporary classification card and competed in two High Power matches or clinics. There is no age limit on air gun events.
- Center fire revolvers are acceptable.
- Competitors who share equipment and need to be squadded on separate relays are responsible to inform the range officer of their needs.
- All event starting times except the initial start time each day are approximate and could begin earlier or later depending on what transpires in previous events.
- Because of the amount of activity on the range, we cannot guarantee that rifle shooters will be able to compete in every pistol event or that pistol shooters will be able to compete in every rifle event. However, you will be able to compete in some of the cross-over events.

All events will be fired on the Iron County Shooting Ranges except the Air Gun events which will be held at the Army National Guard Armory at 1065 N Airport Road.
Eligibility: The Utah Summer Games and State Games of the West is open to all State Games athletes from the following States: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Athletes from these states are eligible by participating in their local State Games in 2008 regardless of their results or placement in one of the sports, or if a resident of the State of Utah or a resident of a neighboring state (Idaho, Nevada, or Wyoming) that does not currently hold an officially recognized State Games event, for at least 30 days prior to the first day of the competition they wish to enter. In addition, students who are enrolled in a Utah college or university are eligible, as are U.S. military personnel and their family members who are stationed in Utah. The State Games of the West have been organized in accordance with NCAA guidelines with some exceptions. Athletes who have eligibility questions should check with their school athletic administrator or coach. Any athlete with scholastic or collegiate eligibility remaining must comply with rules governing his or her scholastic or collegiate eligibility.
Confirmation: Internet Registrations will immediately receive a confirmation e-mail. Mailed or delivered registrations can check at registration area before event.
Check-In: Athletes need to check in at the SUU Sorenson PE Building, 560 W University Blvd., Cedar City. Each athlete will receive a welcome packet containing the official Utah Summer Games Athlete shirt, valuable coupons and other assorted goodies. Registration will be open Thursday, June 10 from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM; daily beginning Friday, June 11 through Friday, June 25, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM (every day except Sunday); and Saturday, June 26, from 7:00 AM to Aprox 4:00 PM. All teams must have waivers signed by each team members if they are 18 or older, and by parents/guardians if they are under 18. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Refund Policy: NO REFUNDS will be given for medical withdrawals. If an event cannot be held due to inclement weather a voucher code may be issued to be used for another sport during the 2010 event or the same sport during the 2011 Utah Summer Games. Exceptions will be made only for the following: entries received after entry deadline; sports or competitions reaching maximum registration capacity; entries received after the maximum number of teams are bracketed or if there are not enough teams or individuals to form a division.
